Amanda Klimko
Artistic Director & Una Vocé Choir Director
Amanda Rabb Klimko spent 27 years as a music teacher and choral director in the Jefferson County School System. During that time, she taught music on the elementary, middle, junior and senior high levels. Sixteen of these years were spent as Choral Director at Hewitt-Trussville High School, where the choirs performed on many local, state, and national venues, including High Mass in the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Her choirs consistently received superior ratings in district, state, and regional festivals. Mrs. Klimko earned a Bachelor of Music in Education at Samford University and Orff Certifications, Levels 1 and 2, from Memphis State University. Her professional affiliations have included the Music Educators National Conference, American Choral Director’s Association, Alabama Vocal Association, Presbyterian Association of Musicians (P.A.M.), and Music Director of the Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley Worship Committee.
Meredith DeVore
Intermezzo Singers Choir Director
Meredith DeVore is thrilled to be part of the Birmingham Children’s Choir family by working with the Intermezzo Singers. Mrs. DeVore is a graduate of Auburn University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and graduated summa cum laude. She is the choral director at Clay Chalkville Middle School and is very active in the music ministry at her church, Hunter Street Baptist, where she teaches 4th grade KidChoir and sings in the Adult Choir. Mrs. DeVore is a member of MENC and ACDA.
Ben Cook
Prelude Singers Choir Director
Ben Cook is the music teacher at Vestavia Hills East Elementary Music where he teaches kindergarten through third grade. He is also the Children's Choir Director at First United Methodist Church Trussville. In the past Ben has served as the choral director of Alabama Boys' State and as the associate director of the Montevallo Chorale. Ben received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Montevallo and his level one Orff-Schulwerk certification from Samford University. Ben is a member of AMEA, MENC and ASOA.
